Snow Leopards are known throughout the world for its beautiful fur, amazing tail they use for balance and keeping warm in the harsh climate and for their elusive behavior. In the mountains they blend perfectly, so well camouflaged. The snow leopards are also known as the Snow Cat or they are often called the 'ghosts of the mountain' because they are so rarely seen and spend most of their lives in solitude. Sadly this beautiful cat is critically endangered due poaching, loss of habitat, loss of prey and snow Leopards kill livestock and are killed by herders in retribution. So sad. The latin name for snow leopard is Panthera uncia and are found in the rugged mountains of Central Asia. One incredible fact about this elusive cat is the fur on their stomachs is nearly five inches thick to help them survive in cold, harsh mountain climates and these are the only big cats that these harsh cold deserts of Asia call home.

The Snow Leopard Trust aims to protect this endangered cat through community-based conservation projects that are based on an improved scientific understanding of snow leopard behavior, needs, habitats and threats.

This image is the A3 size option and is double-mounted ready to be framed. The print is hand signed and titled on the print on the white border around the image and is mounted and cellophaned. Image size; 42cm x 28.1cm. The approx size of the outside edge of the mountboard is H57.7cm by 43.8cm.

This image 'Prowl' is available in a 4 size option A5, A4, A3 and A2. With the mountboard on top, the sizes are overall larger than the A size of the image. The A5 has only 1 mountboard with a pencil line to give the affect of being double-mounted.
